The effective Governing Body at Pens Meadow School consists of nine members.
Each member knows the school and our pupils very well, providing the necessary challenge and support to ensure we achieve the very best possible outcomes for our families.
A dedicated team of volunteers who work closely with school leaders to make sure every pupil at Pens Meadow has the support they need.
The Role of the Governing Body
The Governing Body operates at a strategic level and is responsible for:

Setting Strategic Direction: Monitoring and evaluating the School Improvement Plan and ensuring the school's vision and values are upheld.

Accountability: Checking the quality of teaching and pupil achievement, and challenging senior leaders to maintain high standards.

Safeguarding: Ensuring robust safeguarding procedures are in place. The nominated governor for child protection is Paul Leyshon.

Statutory Compliance: Ensuring the school meets all legal requirements, including SEND provision, health and safety, and data protection (GDPR).

Resource Management: Ensuring the school is staffed effectively and that financial resources are used to provide the best value for pupils.

Community Engagement: Carrying out termly classroom visits and working in partnership with parents and stakeholders.
